Miku Sekimoto is a Japanese multimedia artist based in the United States. Her work revolves around exploring Japanese culture and identity through various mediums such as painting, sculpture, and digital art.
Drawing inspiration from her heritage, she often incorporates the beautiful and symbolic Koi-fish in her work as a representation of Japan. Sekimoto’s paintings often incorporate glimpses of her own narrative and invite viewers to find their own stories in them too.
Sekimoto’s experiment with body casting has become important for her to “capture this moment in the moving days.” She only uses her own body for casting.
